The AZ Browncoats at LepreCon 36

Hey all. I wrote this piece about The AZBrowncoats time at LepreCon 36 back in May, and am now just posting it. Happy reading!

5/1:

At the AZ Browncoats shindig prior to LepreCon 36, I acquired the fan table supply box and display board from one of our members, Jenn. She had already posted the online Browncoats volunteer sign-up sheet for our fan table at LepreCon. 5/13, Thursday night: Prepare the fan table box. I emptied its varied contents onto my bed to see what would be needed and what would not as to make the box lighter. A while ago a thought had popped into my mind to purchase an understated yet sturdy stand with which to properly display (show off, That’s right, we got an award, Nah nah nah!) our group’s New Times award for “Best Geeks With A Cause” plaque.

Equality Now & CREDO Long Distance Phone Service

My dad and I have our long distance through a carrier named CREDO (formally Working Assets). Their tag line is, "every call you make helps support progressive causes like human rights, the environment and voter registration - at no extra cost to you." Every year they ask their customers to vote on which causes they want donations to go out to. There are 50 causes under 5 different headings. This year I noticed under the heading 'Peace & International Freedom' that Equality Now is listed!! That's the first time I've seen them there & I've been with CREDO for at least 6+ years now. If anyone wants more information, you can go to credomobile.com/causes . I looked on Twitter to see if CREDO has an account, indeed they do. I tweeted them to let them know that seeing Equality Now on my donations ballot made me a very happy Browncoat :)

Logorama

Not exactly work safe, some strong language and themes, but ultimately it's pretty dang cool! Think Pulp Fiction done entirely in company logos, but it's an original story.

Alternative Shindig - "Voyage to Mars" - It's a GO! (This Saturday)

Our Alternative Shindig to the Arizona Challenger Space Center for the Voyage to Mars is a GO!!! It's THIS Saturday, April 17th. They opened up the registration to the public and we have 24 people signed up. It's not too late. They will take up to 32 people. If you want to join us, call Tracy at the Space Center 623-322-2001. It cost $17.50 for the tour and the mission.

I would totally see this movie!
