Elections for the remaining two board members closed at 12:00 a.m. this morning. Voter turnout was quite high and all five candidates made a good show. Leading the pack, however, were Jennifer Anderson (me) and Kevin McAlonan. The Board Members-elect will decide amongst themselves which of the two will become the Vice Chairman, selecting the other to be Corporate Secretary.
Nominations are now open in the last round of elections for the Presidet, Vice President, and Procedural Secretary Positions and remain open through Thursday, April 23rd. Polling for these positions will begin on Friday, April 24th and end on Sunday, April 26th.
The President acts as the executive officer of the Corporation and, subject to the Board of Directors, has general supervision, direction, and control of the affairs of the Corporation. The position of President may not be held by the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Corporation. The President presides at all meetings of the Corporation, excluding meetings of the Board of Directors. The President appoints, serves on, and/or disbands all committees, and appoints and/or removes a webmaster, shindig coordinator, and such other appointive officers as necessary. Currently, Jennifer Anderson has been nominated, seconded and accepted her nomination for this position. Collin Toohey has been nominated and seconded, but still has to accept or decline his nomination for this position.
The Vice President, in the absence or disability of the President, assumes all of the rights, duties, and limitations of the latter. Currently, Raymond Wolfe has been nominated, seconded and accepted his nomination for this position. Lisa Richins has been nominated and seconded, but still has to accept or decline her nomination for this position.
The Procedural Secretary records of the minutes of the meetings of the Corporation and the attendance of each member of the regular meetings, and posts the minutes and attendance records of each regular meeting on the Members Forum. Currently, David Ramirez has been nominated, seconded and accepted his nomination for this position. Lisa Richins has been nominated and seconded, but still has to accept or decline her nomination for this position.
