We're one step closer to having ourselves a name. Problem is, you silly people couldn't settle on just one!! Read on to see and vote for the finalists, and I promise the winner of this vote WILL BE our event's name. To clarify however, the event committee has final say and the partner groups have veto power on the final decision.

Oh! Before I forget, I want to clarify that despite my use of Never Ending Story imagery, it is unfortunately not in our planned program. It's a great movie though... maybe next year.

The crux of the debate was whether the word "Geek" is critical to getting across the atmosphere of the event or whether it will turn off the mainstream folks who might otherwise go. As far as the people I know, very few consider geek to be derogatory, and for that matter consider themselves geeks (until I start telling stories of the cons I've been to). On the other hand, we don't want to come across as the creepy smelly guys who live in their parents' basement and can't talk to women. I mean seriously, who has a basement in Arizona? Oh, and we're also a fantastically diverse bunch in each of our groups and if past CSTS events are any indication, the "geeks" that show up are by no means smelly and creepy. I'd mention our significant number of beautiful women, but I'd never use them like that. That would be wrong.
